Theatre Re: The Nature of Forgetting

Event details

Following more than 150 performances in sold-out venues across the globe, Theatre Re brings its explosive, powerful and joyous piece about what is left when memory is gone, back to the UK.

Tom is living with young onset dementia. We meet him as he prepares for his 55th birthday party and past memories spark into life, unravelling a story of friendship, love and guilt.

The Nature of Forgetting is a life-affirming journey into a weakening mind, where broken does not have to mean defeated, developed with UCL Neuroscience Professor Kate Jeffery and the Alzheimer’s Society,

Director Guillaume Pigé comments, “The Nature of Forgetting is not about dementia. It is about the fragility of life and that eternal ‘something’ we all share that is left when memory is gone.

Theatre Re are one of the UK’s leading visual theatre companies. They combine original live music with striking visual theatre to create world class, deeply moving, non-verbal productions about universal human challenges and the fragility of life.

Post-event discussion

On Tuesday 5 March, Dr Warren Donnellan will join dementia and Alzheimer’s researchers for a panel discussion following the performance.
